Lichfield Speakers, 2012/3 Presidents statement.

We want our members to be confident speakers.

We remind our members, that for £15pcm:

1. there is a structured syllabus which takes you from Effective through Proficient to Skilled Communicator; which any member can study for free and receive the letters EC, PC or SC after their name upon completion of each stage.

2. that there is a structured program for each session with a chance to take part in the speeches, the evaluation process, the workshops, the topic sessions and the networking opportunities within the group, that will provide you with a valued learning experience.

3. the knowledge and confidence that can be gained through listening and watching the other speakers who are at various stages of development, ranging from beginners to experts.

We pay particular attention to new members and make them feel like they are one of the team from the moment they meet us. We know their time is valuable and we wish to add value in return for their time.

We highlight the improvements made by individuals and we support their development, at their pace and one step at a time.

All of our 2012 programs have an impromptu element and everybody gets a chance to be equally involved as we are all equally unprepared.

We embrace modern technology like headsets and hands free microphones, personal address systems, filming videos and overhead projectors for power point presentations as forms of communication media; as children use these skills now in primary schools and even during their leisure time.

Through world-wide communication we will eventually realise that we are not so different after all. We all have something to say and we each hold a piece of the puzzle, but some of us need a little help finding our inner voice. We want you to be heard.
