Awesome Syllabus

We meet up twice a month on the first and third Thursday. Each of our programs has a general theme around which our speakers can prepare a speech. If you are practicing for a specific occasion you may wish to use your own theme.

Other members are used to evaluate the speakers for time, delivery and content. Each evening there is a workshop or training session to develop areas of timing, delivery or content.

The syllabus is updated and the evenings programs are created every 3 months. The programs will take into account the development requirements of the club members. If you wish to help create the syllabus you will be very welcome.

We often team up with other clubs and participate in join lessons. There is a regional, national, group and international body that looks after us as well. When you join, you become part of the international body of speakers called POWERtalk ITC, International Training in Communications.

Fantastic Lessons

Once you join, you will have access to the first 3 levels of the Accreditation program materials. The first level is the Effective Communicator or EC level, the second level is the Proficient Communicator or PC level and the third level is the Skilled Communicator or SC level.

The Accreditation assignments are tailored to an individuals needs within a recognised, optional, multi-level format, which offers a flexible and self-paced program. From the simplest of beginnings of a one-minute 'speech', to the complexity of leading two-hour workshops at International Conventions, the Accreditation Program provides a disciplined and graduated personal growth path.

You can achieve each level of the accreditation program within a year and it is free for members Each level allows you to display the letters EC, PC or SC after you name. This qualification is internationally recognised.

The Accreditation program allows you to focus your energy through the completion of a range of tasks that allow you to learn and practice a new range of skills.

Nice People

The members are from all walks of life. We have sales representatives, middle management staff, team leaders, people who talk to other people as part of their role at work and people who just enjoy being part of the club as it is improving their general confidence, not only in public speaking.

Our club also includes professional presenters including a world class public speaker who leads most of the training program. This training outside of the club would be a significant investment.

Our aim is to have confident and capable members who are capable of leading a conversation or presentation. We all help each other as even long serving members can improve. We really enjoy having new members who wish to take the first steps and start to develop their speech reading abilities and gain that early self confidence.
